However, while commercial make-up removers are often effective they can irritate and dry out your skin. Many commercial makeup removers also contain toxins that are not good for your skin or for the environment.

Fortunately, there is an easy and inexpensive alternative to purchasing commercial makeup remover products. I developed this makeup remover recipe to remove my makeup while moisturizing my skin; it also has the added bonus of preventing and fighting acne breakouts.

The makeup remover recipe is easy to prepare and calls for all natural ingredients that are inexpensive and easy to obtain.

You will need the following containers and utensils to make the makeup remover recipe: one large mixing bowl; one small bowl; measuring cup; food processor or chopper or blender; tablespoon; jar or other containers with a tight fitting lid and a small plastic bottle with a screw on cap.
